The Police Federation plays a vital role in representing and supporting its members. Throughout their careers, many officers may encounter unforeseen challenges—whether it’s an on-duty accident, an allegation, or feeling unfairly treated.
Fed reps are there to offer critical support and expert advice when it’s needed most. The Federation also represents all members in areas such as conduct, pay, allowances, terms and conditions, equality, professional development and operational policing.
Becoming a Fed rep is, therefore, a rewarding opportunity to help your fellow officers and make a meaningful impact on their professional lives. Every Fed rep receives expert training, enabling them to effectively champion members’ interests. At the same time, Fed reps develop skills that will support their personal development and career growth.
Whether you want to serve full-time or balance the role alongside your policing duties, becoming a Fed rep allows you to be a trusted voice for your colleagues, develop leadership skills and make a lasting difference.
Every full member of the PFEW can stand in Branch Council elections, which are held every three years.
