Annual Conference

2021 Web Banner

Our Annual Conference is a flagship event in the policing calendar, attracting speakers and delegates from the UK and overseas, bringing together practitioners, policy decision-makers and key policing stakeholders. Guests in attendance will include the National Police Chiefs’ Council (NPCC), College of Policing (CoP), Her Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabulary and Fire and Rescue Service (HMICFRS).

This years’ Annual Conference will take place virtually on the 9 and 10 June 2021, and will reach an audience wider than ever before.

The past 12-months have been extremely challenging for everyone and like many public services, the police service has been ‘under pressure’. Policing the pandemic has placed unprecedented demand on policing, not least with having to enforce changing regulations to police local and national lockdowns.

Officers continue to put themselves at risk, facing Covid-19 being used as a weapon against them. They have had to deal with the loss of loved ones and colleagues, whilst continuing to keep the public safe, living in fear of bringing the virus home.

Officers continue to be scrutinised, trialled by media, often portraying one side of the story. Policing post-Brexit may add additional strain to a service which is struggling.

These are only some of the issues which will be covered this year with special guests, including senior Government officials.

We will also be presenting the winner of the much coveted ‘Women in Policing’ Award, sponsored by No1 CopperPot Credit Union.
