In the first edition of 2023, we are showcasing some of the work we do at Federation HQ, delving deeper into the role of the Claims Team. Hear from National Chair Steve Hartshorn directly as he answers your questions and learn more about the Federation's Simplify DG6 campaign.

Former officer Hannah Bailey shares her story about mental and physical wellbeing challenges, and the life-changing decisions she made that led to her running her own business, Blue Light Wellbeing. We also speak to inspirational Eve Lauder, who is living life to the full whilst raising awareness after a terminal cancer diagnosis.

Read about a landmark case win on behalf of retired detective John Cahill who suffered PTSD after prolonged exposure to child abuse images. We have also spoken to several officers who shared their own lived experiences struggling through the cost of living crisis and managing ordeals with the IOPC.

Roads Policing Lead and National Board Member Brian Booth interviews Tim Rogers, Secretary of West Mids Police Federation and National Police Pursuits and Driver Training Lead on the new prescribed training that will give police drivers better protection in law under the Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts Act.

Sergeant Paul Linpower shares how his personal experience of being under investigation and receiving help from a Fed rep spurred him on to take on the role himself. We also shine the spotlight on some amazing work being done for charity by officers up and down the country, including 10-year-old police fanatic Jay.

Hampshire Constabulary Marine Support Unit featured on our cover gives us a rundown of policing in and around the water.

We hope you enjoy this edition.
