The Police Federation of England and Wales can confirm that we hold this information.

Nationally, the Police Federation has met with 41 Labour MPs – these meetings have been the local Federation Chair, the National Vice-Chair, and the Secretary of the Police Federation Parliamentary Sub-Committee.  These meetings have been part of a campaign to speak with all MPs and the subjects covered have included:

  • police pay
  • police pensions
  • assaults on police and officer safety
  • driving legislation issues
  • policing Covid
  • priority Covid vaccinations for police officers
  • concerns about the length of time misconduct and IOPC investigations take
  • Special Constables becoming members of the Police Federation
  • the Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts Bill
  • the Police Covenant

There have also been a range of local issues raised by local Federation officials at these meetings.

In addition, the National Chair has a monthly meeting with the Shadow Home Secretary and also with the Shadow Police Minister – similar subjects are covered at these meetings, as well as anything that is topical and affects the membership.
