Pay and morale survey: take part now

17 November 2021

West Midlands Police Federation members are being urged to take part in the 2021 Pay and Morale Survey before it closes at the end of the month.

The survey, conducted by the Police Federation of England and Wales, aims to gain a proper insight from the frontline, and its findings will be used to support the Police Federation campaign for fairer pay for officers.
Branch chair Jon Nott said: “The survey comes at a time when policing has been under pressure like never before and pay and morale have become major issues within the service.

“I am sure the findings will make uncomfortable reading for the Government and those ministers who promised police officers their full support but then hid behind the cost of the coronavirus pandemic to betray them.

“I would encourage all our members to have their say in this important survey and make sure the strength of their feelings is acknowledged, recognised and fully understood by those in power.”

National chair John Apter said the survey was the only consistent national survey that represented member attitudes on pay and conditions.

He said the evidence collected this year would play a vital part in supporting the ongoing campaign to seek fairer pay and remuneration for police officers across England and Wales.

The 2021 Pay and Morale Survey is being conducted by the Police Federation’s in-house research department, which plays a vital part in providing strategically important evidence to achieve better pay and conditions for members. The survey will close on 30 November.

The Federation sent a link to the survey to all members by email, but please contact the office if you need it.
