With more and more people heading off on their summer holidays again after the easing of travel restrictions during the pandemic, West Midlands Police Federation is reminding members that worldwide family travel insurance is available to subscribers to the Group Insurance Scheme.

The travel insurance policy provides £25,000 in personal accident cover, medical and emergency travel expenses with cover for hospital stays, £2,000 personal belongings cover, up to £5,000 cover for cancellation, curtailment or change of itinerary plus £100 per insured person if travel is delayed for more than 12 hours.

In addition, there is cover for legal expenses and winter sports.

The West Midlands Police Federation Group Insurance Scheme is tailored to meet the needs of police officers and also covers:

• Care on demand
• Life assurance including terminal illness benefit and child death grant
• Additional life insurance option
• Critical illness cover

• RAC motor breakdown cover
• Personal accident cover
• Best Doctors cover
• Regulation 28 - sickness insurance
• Mobile phone/gadget insurance.

Membership is £25.60 per month for serving officers who can pay £9.29 a month to add a partner to the policy.
