Pensions survey: members urged to respond

17 November 2020

All members of West Midlands Police Federation are being asked to complete a short pensions survey.

The survey has been put together by the West Midlands Police Federation Pensions Working Group which was formed after the Government announced its proposed remedy to the discrimination found in the implementation of the 2015 Career Average Revalued Earnings (CARE) Police Pension Scheme.

It seeks to find out if members feel West Midlands Police Federation should pay any costs incurred by its members who had signed up to the Leigh Day Pension Challenge.

“I put forward a paper at the July Branch Council meeting addressing the issues around the police pension and instigated the working group to consider in more depth the situation that our members found themselves in,” explains Jon Nott, chair of West Midlands Police Federation.

“I was acutely aware of the feelings of those in the Pension Challenge but felt that it was important to find out the views of the wider membership too.

“Having been established, the working group had to very quickly consider a response to the Government’s proposal for the remedy to the discrimination found in the implementation of the 2015 Career Average Revalued Earnings (CARE) Police Pension Scheme. It submitted this response on members’ behalf and this will now be considered, with other submissions, by the Treasury.”

A link to the survey will be sent out to members this week. The survey is ONLY open to subscribing members of West Midlands Police Federation. If you are in any doubt about your membership status please contact the Federation office by emailing westmidlandspf@polfed.org

It is strictly one entry per member.

The survey will close on 18 December 2020 and the results will be published as soon as possible.
Please contact the Federation office by email if you have any queries or if you do not receive a link to the survey.
