Pay and morale survey launched

5 November 2021

Members are being urged to send a forceful message to the Government by taking part in the annual Police Federation pay and morale survey before it closes at the end of November.

West Midlands Police Federation is calling on all its members to make sure their voices are heard loud and clear in the online survey, the results of which will then be used to support the Police Federation of England and Wales’ campaign for fairer pay for officers.

Branch chair Jon Nott said: “The survey comes at a time when policing has been under pressure like never before and pay and morale have become major issues within the service.

“I am sure the findings will make uncomfortable reading for the Government and those ministers who promised police officers their full support, but then hid behind the cost of the coronavirus pandemic to betray them.

“I would encourage all our members to have their say in this important survey and make sure the strength of their feelings is acknowledged, recognised and fully understood by those in power.”

The survey is being conducted by the Police Federation’s in-house research department, which plays a vital part in providing strategically important evidence to achieve better pay and conditions for members.

A link to the survey has been sent to members and they have until Tuesday 30 November to complete it.
