Hertfordshire Police Federation

‘Take a moment to nominate a colleague’

7 April 2022

Nominations are still open for the Outstanding Contribution to Women in Policing Award and Hertfordshire Police Federation chair Geoff Bardell hopes to see colleagues recognised for their achievements.

Geoff said: “We’ve all got colleagues who’ve make an outstanding contribution, who go that extra mile, and who inspire us every day.

“The Outstanding Contribution to Women in Policing Award give us the opportunity to celebrate those colleagues and their fantastic contributions.

“So please take a moment to nominate colleagues who’ve made an outstanding contribution to women in the police service.”

Launched by the Police Federation of England and Wales in 2015, the annual award recognises a current or recently retired officer who has gone above and beyond their job, while on duty and made a difference that’s led to a profound positive impact on others.

Nominations close on Monday 18 April.

Nominees:

  • Must be serving, or recently retired, officers of a Federated rank
  • Can be male, female or the gender in which they identify
  • Must have demonstrated how they have made an impact on, and significant contribution to, women in policing.

Nominators:

  • Can be police officers or members of support staff.

How to nominate:

The winner will be presented with the award at PFEW’s annual national conference on 17 and 18 May.

The winner of the 2021 Women in Policing Award was Chief Inspector Sharon Baker of Avon and Somerset Police.
