Demand, Capacity and Welfare Survey: time to have your say

26 October 2020

Hertfordshire Police Federation chair Geoff Bardell is reminding members to take part in a new survey before it’s too late.

The 2020 Demand, Capacity and Welfare Survey, conducted by the Police Federation of England and Wales, gives members the opportunity to voice their experiences of a number of issues including policing the pandemic. It will close on 16 November.

Geoff said: “This is an incredibly important survey and we need as many members as possible to have their say and to share their personal experiences from this year. We need to build a comprehensive picture of how Covid-19, and a whole range of other issues, have impacted, and continue to impact, our work.

“Please make your voice heard and help us shape future policies.”

This year’s survey is the third of its kind and aims to give an accurate assessment of the challenges facing policing. It looks at questions around the pandemic and the plan to recruit 20,000 more officers by 2023 and the data will be compared with the results of the 2016 and 2018 surveys.
