Avon and Somerset Police Federation on Football Final Exigency

Tony Henley, Secretary-Elect of Avon and Somerset Police Federation, said: “We are receiving a large number of queries from officers who are having their rest days cancelled due to the football.

“We work closely with the Force to ensure these cancellations are kept to a minimum as we are acutely aware of the fatigue that exists amongst our officers at present.

“However, due to the nature of policing there are time when changes have to made at short notice to ensure that we can adequately protect the public. We will continue to remind the Force to take into account their responsibilities in ensuring that the welfare of our officers is given weighty consideration.”
