National Grief Awareness Week: factsheet available

6 December 2022

A new factsheet offers members tips and guidance on dealing with grief, bereavement and loss.

The factsheet has been produced by Police Mutual, which provides financial services and welfare support to the police service, for Grief Awareness Week which started on 2 December and runs until Thursday (8 December).

Organised by the Good Grief Trust, Grief Awareness Week aims to raise awareness of the impact of grief and to break the taboo around talking about it.

The Police Mutual guide includes tips on looking after yourself following a bereavement, what to say when someone is grieving, and advice on helping children cope with death.

There’s also practical guidance on what to do when someone dies and where to find support if you are grieving.
