Design a Christmas card – children’s competition

19 August 2019

The children of police officers and police staff are being urged to get creative over the summer holidays.

The St George’s Police Children Trust has launched a competition to find a design for its 2019 Christmas card.

The closing date for entries is 31 August and designs will be judged in three age categories: weenies (up to age six), tweenies (seven to 12-years-old) and teenies and over for those aged 13 to 25.

Entries should be sent to The St George’s Police Children Trust, St Andrews, Harlow Moore Road, Harrogate, HG2 0AD.

The St George’s Police Children Trust is a registered charity which aims to support police families by helping ease the financial pressures of bringing up children in the face of life-changing circumstances. These circumstances could involve the loss of either parent (whether they are a serving or retired police officer) or the police officer parent being unable to earn an income due to illness or injury, sustained on or off duty.

Support can include:

•  A new beneficiary grant

  •  Weekly support allowance for each child in the family
    •  Seasonal gifts
    •  Higher education grants
    •  Ex-gratia grants for necessary activities or items
    •  Special needs grants
    •  Driving lesson grants
    •  Child counselling grants,
    •  A week's respite break at a holiday home in Harrogate and any subsequent visits at discounted rates.
