Trial by media session opens Day 2 of conference

There’s a packed programme for Day 2 of the Police Federation of England and Wales’ first online annual national conference.

There are debates, discussions and presentations around the theme of the conference, Policing Under Pressure.

Humberside Police Federation secretary Rob Grunner said: “We had a really good start to the conference and Day 2 promises to be just as interesting, with many of the issues that matter to our members coming under the spotlight.

“Conference is one of the highlights of the Federation calendar and is an opportunity for delegates to really engage with politicians, decision-makers and senior policing figures.”

Day 2 of kicks off this morning with discussions on Use of Force – Objective or Subjective, Trial by Media, Understanding Misogyny in Policing and Investing in Investigators.

Recruitment During the Pandemic, Policing With Privilege? and Policing Protests are up for discussion in the afternoon, as well as The Challenge of Difference, New Regs – New Culture? Wellbeing, Driving Change and a Federation elections update.
