Federation comment on the announcement of new Chief Constable

Sacha Hatchett has been confirmed as the new Chief Constable of Lancashire Police.

Zeg Awan, Chair of Lancashire Police Federation, said: “We are delighted at the appointment of Sacha Hatchett our present Deputy Chief Constable to the position of Chief Constable. She was appointed following a through, robust and challenging process and we congratulate her on her success.

“Policing never stops and we look forward to working constructively with her and meeting the challenges ahead, together for the benefit of our members and the people of Lancashire.” 

Zeg added: “We would also like to pay our thanks and gratitude to the outgoing Chief Constable Mr Rowley. We enjoyed our open and honest relationship which benefited the Constabulary and staff. He implemented many changes to Lancashire Constabulary, many of which will continue to be implemented by his successor.

“We wish him and his family well for the future and hope he enjoys his retirement, which after over 30 years of service to the public is thoroughly deserved.”
