Cumbria officers nearing retirement invited to return to policing under re-joiner scheme

29 November 2022

Cumbria Constabulary officers who are nearing retirement can consider returning to the police via the Re-joiner scheme, subject to eligibility. The application form can be found online in the Re-Joiner policy.

Those looking for a new challenge are being encouraged to consider police staff positions and can access any externally advertised job on the recruitment portal.

There are a variety of jobs available, including positions working with the technology company Mark43.

Mark43 is currently working in partnership with Cumbria Constabulary to modernise its technology and police experience is particularly useful in these roles.

Staff from Mark43 have worked closely with Cumbria Constabulary over the past year, going out on frontline response teams, visiting stations and talking to officers and staff about what they need to make their jobs more streamlined.

Its data platform aims to reduce data entry time and allow real-time data collection and information sharing. This frees up officers to spend more time being visible in their communities.

Mark43 was started in the US and works with police forces in New South Wales, Washington DC, Boston, Seattle, San Antonio and Atlanta.
