City of London Police Federation

Pete Gartland

Fed Rep

I joined the City of London Police having spent 10 years in Essex in a variety of Detective roles.  Following 8 years in NLF, I returned to uniform, as a shift Sergeant, before joining the Custody Cadre.

I wanted to be a Fed Rep to make sure that colleagues are supported and looked after on a daily basis and to make sure that officers facing any sort of investigation are properly supported.  I also want to make sure that the organisation is appropriately held to account in the conduct of their investigation.  Being a Fed Rep means that I can be placed to do this, easing the burden on officers.  Influencing organisational change if it is otherwise at the detriment to officers is also key for me.

Members concerned about anything should approach or contact any Fed Rep who will do their best to provide advice or solve the issue in confidence.

Away from work my two daughters keep me busy and in my downtime I am a keen motorcyclist and a member of a local Clay Shooting club.
