Nottinghamshire Police Federation

Latest edition of Front Line out now

3 May 2024

The spring edition of Front Line, the magazine of Nottinghamshire Police Federation, is out now.
It includes a report on the latest pay and morale survey which, branch chair Simon Riley says, shows that ‘far too many officers are unhappy at work’.
Simon reiterates his calls for a fair pay settlement for officers, saying it would ‘improve morale almost at a stroke’.
There’s a message from Simon and branch secretary Tom Hill that the Force being moved into an enhanced level of monitoring was no reflection on frontline officers, as they call for strong leadership from the chief officer team and senior managers to address concerns raised by HMICFRS.
Temporary Inspector Gav Skevington, Nottinghamshire Police’s chief firearms instructor, who is autistic, shared his story for Neurodiversity Celebration Week to help break down barriers and to support neurodiverse people in policing.
There’s a feature on the work and support provided by the Nottinghamshire Empowering Women to Succeed network
Hear about how members are working with BAFTA award-winning actor Vicky McClure and her Dementia Choir to support people living with the condition.
Meet the member who stopped a shoplifter while off duty, and there’s a welcome for the new Elizabeth Emblem, which officially recognises the sacrifice of fallen officers.
There’s also a report on ‘long overdue’ Home Office plans to improve the timeliness of investigations into police officers’ conduct.
And find out about the free addiction support that’s available to Nottinghamshire Police Federation members.
