#AskTwice webinar to mark Mental Health Awareness Week

8 May 2024

Asking someone if they are OK is nice. Asking someone if they are OK for a second time could help to save their life.

Police officers will be able to hear more during an #AskTwice webinar to mark Mental Health Awareness Week next week.

The online discussion, held from 10.30am to 11.15am on 15 May, will delve into why asking twice of friends and colleagues is crucial.

It's hoped the webinar will provide participating police officers with the tools required to support their friends and loved ones.

Sadly suicide is the biggest killer of police officers in the country. From 2001 to 2020, 344 officers took their own lives.

Guest speaker Mel Lynch will also share her insights during the webinar on building habits and routes, along with some easy “deskercise” movements that can greatly benefit mental health.
