The Police Children's Charity (previously The Gurney Fund)

A registered charity for the care and education of the children of deceased or medically retired police officers from subscribing forces. Assistance may include a weekly allowance and grants towards educational expenditure such as school trips, uniform, music lessons and sporting activities.  Beneficiaries are also invited to attend holidays and activities arranged by the Fund.  Further information is available from their website:

Police Care UK - Formerly - Police Dependants' Trust

Police Care UK is a charity caring for serving and former police officers and staff, volunteers, and their families.

Providing practical, emotional and financial support for serving and former police officers, staff, and volunteers who suffer harm as a result of their policing role that is confidential and impartial.

Their mission is to reduce the impact of harm on police and families.

We use the money we raise to relieve the financial hardship that some personnel of the Emergency Services may face after being criminally injured whilst on duty.

Our first aim, which is well underway, is to raise one million pounds by 2013; three years on from our launch.

 


 

Care Of Police Survivors (COPS)

COPS is run by survivors for survivors. Membership is open to spouses, partners, children, parents and siblings of officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty.

 


Wiltshire Police Benevolent Trust

Since 2007 the Wiltshire Police Benevolent Trust became a registered charity, this changes our status which allowed the Trustees to help not only serving officers, retired officers, but police staff and their families too.

Over 15 years, thanks to your contributions we’ve been able to support hundreds of our policing family through difficult times, we have assisted with purchasing equipment to improve mobility and quality of life for several members.

The sort of things we’ve aided with include, the purchase of specialist equipment for a disabled child; Building works to facilitate wheelchair use and purchase of purpose made motorised scooter and trailer.

The current Trustees are:

  • Pc Sarah Ennis - Police Federation 
  • Mr Cliff Fuller - UNISON 
  • Mr Cavan Moroney - NARPO

The police officer donation of £2.13p which includes a donation to Wiltshire police benevolent Trust, The Gurney fund, and the Police Care UK.

Police staff, can only donate towards the Benevolent Trust, the 91p. This is due to the other two charities being for police officers.
