Blog: Message from the Chair

As well as a new chair, I’m pleased to announce you have a new website!
I have been in post a few weeks and been very busy getting to grips with the role. I come from Force Response where I’ve seen daily, the demand placed upon already over-stretched resources as officers struggle to cope with everything from vulnerability to terrorism.
During my campaign, I highlighted that I would fight for better pensions, officer safety, access to much needed breaks and ensure officers get quality time with their families.
Communications is key in letting you know what we’re doing and we work closely with the national Police Federation to constantly strive to improve the way we communicate with members. That’s why over the last few months we have been working with the national Police Federation on this new website.
The aim of the website is to be clean, fresh and easy to use, helping you find the information you need, whether that’s contacting a local rep on our Meet the team page or finding the answer to a question about regs on our Frequently asked questions page.
We also have a user-friendly index of Member services and Diary of events among lots of other useful information.
We hope this new website solution will help provide the information you need and want. If you have any comments or need help with anything, please get in touch.
