Federation pensions survey

11 November 2020

All members of West Midlands Police Federation are being asked to complete a short pensions survey.

The survey has been put together by the West Midlands Police Federation’s Pensions Working Group.

The group was formed after the Government announced its proposed remedy to the discrimination found in the implementation of the 2015 Career Average Revalued Earnings (CARE) Police Pension Scheme.

It has already submitted a response to the Government’s proposal but is now seeking members’ views on whether they feel the Federation should pay any costs incurred by those who had signed up to the Leigh Day Pension Challenge.

While the Police Federation had previously decided not to launch its own challenge, earlier this year it launched a Group Action on behalf of officers.
A link to the pensions survey will be circulated later this month.

“We would like as many members as possible to take part in this survey since the findings will then govern the Federation’s actions going forward. I would urge officers to respond to the survey but also get in touch with the Federation if they would like further information about their own circumstances in relation to their pension,” says Jon Nott, chair of West Midlands Police Federation.
