COPS service remembers fallen officers – and their families

13 July 2018

Representatives of police forces across the country will gather at the National Memorial Arboretum later this month to stand shoulder to shoulder with the families of fallen officers.

The arboretum will once again host the annual families weekend organised by the charity Care of Police Survivors (COPS) which culminates in a service of remembrance on Sunday 27 July 2018.

Ahead of the service, fund-raising cyclists who have taken part in the Unity Tour – a sponsored ride from various points nationwide – will be welcomed to the service as they make their way into the Alrewas memorial site.

West Midlands Police Federation will be represented at the service by chair Rich Cooke.

Following a service which usually features inputs from the families of fallen officers, along with the laying of wreaths by chief officers and Federation officials, guests make their way to The Beat, an avenue made up of a tree dedicated to each force, where floral tributes and further wreaths are laid.
