Federation members can now register to attend National Police Memorial Day (NPMD) 2025 with key details emerging around the event.
Each year since 2004, NMPD has commemorated those in UK police forces who have died in the line of duty through a moving church service.
While any member of the public is welcome to pay their respects, a large proportion of the day’s attendance comes from those directly within policing, be it officers or staff as well as their families.
The 22nd edition of NPMD is set to take place at Coventry Cathedral on Sunday 28 September.

Encouraging Federation members to register their place at the service is branch secretary Tom Hill, who says: “As always, NPMD gives police officers and staff far and wide an opportunity like no other to remember colleagues who died in the line of duty.
“The event is a stark reminder of the realities in our profession and the sacrifice we make – with some dearly missed colleagues paying the ultimate price."
“The memorial service is a chance to show their loved ones that we will never forget them and what they did."
While the service itself will feature processions, music, readings and speeches, there is also plenty to do before and afterward on NPMD, with historic police vehicles on display outside the Cathedral, as well as force standards and performances from the West Midlands Police Band.
More information can be found in the latest Police Remembrance Trust newsletter.
This year, attendees will be seated no later than 1.30pm, ready for a 2pm service start. An expected finish is 3.15pm, with an optional after-service reception at the venue to conclude no later than 4.45pm.
You can register to attend NMPD 2025 on its official event page. This will then generate a ticket, which you must bring to the event, either in a printed or digital version, alongside a matching photographic ID.
Nearer to the time, a NPMD Tribute Wall will also be made live for any messages and tributes for late officers, with highlights of the service also set to be uploaded online for anyone who cannot make the event in person.
