Award winning Roche Legal to deliver bespoke Will making advice for Federation members and Retired Officers
Lynsey Bashforth, who has been helping Police Federation members arrange their wills for a decade, has joined the multi-award winning Roche Legal and is launching a new series of clinics and presentations for officers in 2023. These will be held every month alternating between the Federation office in Knaresborough and the Roche legal office in York. A link to a booking scheduler will be available via the Events calendar on our website or you can call the Roche Office for more information on 01904 866319 or email police@rochelegal.co.uk.
Lynsey will use her unparalleled experience working with the West and North Yorkshire Police Federations to help officers deal with the Will process which can appear daunting and something that around 30 million people in the UK have yet to arrange, despite the impact of the pandemic on so many families.
Allied to Lynsey’s experience, Rachel Roche, owner of York based Roche Legal, will be taking part in a series of presentations to Federation members to explain the company’s ground breaking online help which makes Will writing easier and available 24/7 to fit in with shift patterns.
Lynsey said: “I have been running Will clinics since 2013 with West Yorkshire and developed links with North Yorkshire a year later. We tailor our help, delivered through our clinics, with the Federation to ensure officers feel comfortable and this ensures there is trust and confidence based on nearly ten years of advice and help that I have been delighted to deliver.
“Making a will is an individual decision and the clinics and presentations are about educating officers about the benefits of a Will and explaining the process. After the impact of Covid-19 we are building up the in-person presentations and clinics again. We learnt a lot during the pandemic and officers welcomed the flexibility of arranging a will remotely around their shifts and utilising technology is a real strength of Roche Legal.”
Lynsey acknowledges that making a Will can be appear daunting but is confident the specialist advice, allied to Roche Legal’s proven record of innovative customer service, will resonate with Federation members. She added: “Organising your affairs is not morbid, it is about protecting your family. The whole process when you lose someone is always going to be difficult but if your family are following the Will that you have left behind, they know that they are putting in place your wishes and they don’t have to worry about guessing what it is that you want.
“At Roche Legal we also offer a Powers of Attorney facility to ensure that if you become poorly or unable to manage your affairs for any reason (e.g., Alzheimer’s or Dementia), the person or people you have nominated can step in for you. We are also offering a digital appointment service as part of the forward thinking and new technology that is at the heart of Rachel Legal. This will create a more bespoke service for officers.”
