All-star names headline PFEW’s virtual Annual Conference

Broadcaster and Barrister Rob Rinder will join many of policing’s best-known names for the Police Federation of England and Wales’ (PFEW) first ever virtual Annual Conference.

The high profile event, which takes place on 9-10 June, 2021, will be facilitated by radio and television presenter Ian Collins and has attracted other major figures such as political spin doctor turned Good Morning Britain host Alastair Campbell, documentary maker and Professor of Black Theology Robert Beckford, and TV Presenter Mark Durden-Smith.

With the emphasis on a ‘Policing Under Pressure’ theme, the Conference features keynote speakers including senior Government Ministers and PFEW’s National Chair John Apter, as well as other leading PFEW representatives.

Other confirmed participants include Met Commissioner Dame Cressida Dick, who will present our ‘Women in Policing’ Award, while Policing Minister Kit Malthouse MP, joins NPCC Chair Martin Hewitt, Sarah Jones MP – the Shadow Policing Minister - and Sir Thomas Winsor, HM Chief Inspector of Constabulary, for a dynamic panel discussion on ‘Policing Under Pressure.’

Highlight sessions at the two-day Conference include ‘Trial by Media’, ‘Policing with Privilege?’, ‘Understanding Misogyny in Policing’, and ‘Policing Protests’ - which feature leading individuals from the world of UK law enforcement.
