Lincolnshire Police Federation have purchased a luxury holiday home at Kelling Heath Holiday Park in Norfolk. The Park is open from February to December and is set in woodland not too far from Sheringham and the Norfolk Coast . There is a health spa and gym that is available for use and a whole host of other activities.

The primary aim of the home is to provide an opportunity for rest and recuperation for officers who have incurred significant distress arising from crisis, assault or impact on their family due to policing issues (criteria below)

The secondary aim is to make the home available to hire for short breaks at a discounted rate to Federated members

All serving police officers who are subscribing members of the Police Federation are eligible to book either a 4-night stay (Mon to Fri) or 3-night stay (Fri to Mon). Check in is from 4pm on day of arrival and check out is no later than 10 am. 

The holiday home sleeps up to 6 people. There is a main double bedroom with en-suite, a twin bedroom ( 2 single beds), family bathroom and a sofa in the living area that converts into a double bed.

A FREE Health & Fitness pass is included for all guests to use the health club on site.

Unfortunately no dogs / pets are allowed in the home.

  • Bookings will only be accepted by email sent to caravanbookings@lincs.polfed.org They will be date and time stamped to ensure fairness in the booking process.
  • At the point a date is confirmed to the member, they will need to pay the full balance within 48 hours or the booking will be cancelled, and the date released. Only once that is paid and agreement to terms and conditions of use is agreed and returned by email to caravanbookings@lincs.polfed.org will the booking be secured.
  • In the case of a cancellation with less than 14 days’ notice, a fee of 50% of the initial deposit will be charged.

A “Welfare break” will be defined as the following:

  • A serving Officer who has been seriously injured as a result of an injury on duty (Physical or Psychological)
  • A serving Officer who has been bereaved by a close family member as defined by Parent, Spouse, Cohabiting Partner or Child in the last 12 months
  • A serving Officer who is ill themselves, or has an unwell child or partner, and that illness has a significant impact on their daily life.
  • A serving Officer who has faced a particularly traumatic event or incident and deemed to require a break.
  • A serving Officer who has been subject to a gross misconduct investigation (example being a prolonged IOPC investigation or criminal matter for which they were found no case to answer) this will have been in the last 12 months.

Officers cannot refer themselves for a free welfare break. The recommendation must come through a Police Federation Rep their SMT, or a member of the Chief Officer team. The nominee must be a member of the Federation and the Group Insurance scheme.
