Police Federation Elections 2021 - your chance to stand for election as a Federation Representative - and then to vote for those who you would like to represent you.

Leicestershire Police Federation Chairman Adam Commons outlines to colleagues the process of standing for Federation Representatives in the upcoming elections.

Adam said: “Hopefully you have seen either my internal emails or updates on our Social Media feeds – it is election time again in the Police Federation.

“This is our second full triennial election since they started in 2018 and it is your chance to stand for election as a Federation Representative - and then to vote for those who you would like to represent you.

“The process is a simple one, you should have already received a nomination email to your Force email address (if it hasn’t arrived please let us know so that we can get a link sent to you).

“Simply complete the registration email along with the details of two serving officers – a nominator and a proposer. This needs to be completed by July 22nd.

“A week later, the nominations will then be sent out for all Federation members to vote and on September 1st we will know who will be a part of the Leicestershire Police Federation Branch Council.

“There has never been a better time to be a workplace Representative. Our work locally touches on the three key areas of discipline, equality and health and safety. Full comprehensive training is given to all of our Reps so you don’t have to worry about trying to pick things up quickly and you will be provided with IT equipment to help you carry out the role.

“We have an excellent relationship with the Force which helps us negotiate on behalf of, and represent, our members.

“We have an excellent Team in Leicestershire and now that we have the Group Insurance and Medical Schemes under the Federation name again we can offer more to our members and the Branch Council is always looking at innovative ways of providing new services to you.
