Critical illness and injury fund now available for Leicestershire Police Federation members

Leicestershire Police Federation has created a critical illness and injury fund for its members – offering those eligible one-off £250 payments.

The fund was created by Vice Chair Adam Commons and Deputy Secretary Joe Lloyd.

Adam said: “We are aware of the financial impact that going through prolonged treatment can have on our colleagues.

“The increased travel and hospital parking charges alone can add up very quickly.

“Joe and I thought, we have colleagues going through this and we need to offer them something to help cover those increased costs and make life a little bit easier.

“If you are going through this it is unlikely you are at work, and if you are you will be on restricted duties unable to do overtime to help financially.

“We can offer colleagues a one-off £250 payment to help cover these additional costs, or just to buy something to make life while suffering from critical illness a little more comfortable.”

We know how important discretion can be if you are struggling with an illness in these circumstances and the Federation wants to reassure officers their privacy will be kept following all discussions.

If you need to speak to us about a claim please contact the Federation's Vice Chair Adam Commons or Secretary Jon Carter-Lang.
