Kent Police 2020 Police Federation Pay and Morale Report Findings

COVID-19:

60% of respondents said the force managed officers well during the pandemic

18% said they had not received adequate training from force, but 62% said they had

47% said they had been given access to adequate PPE when necessary; 38% said they had not

 

20,000 Officer Uplift:

44% of respondents said the force will be able to recruit officers as part of the national uplift

 

Pay and Remuneration:

70%of respondents said they were dissatisfied with their overall remuneration (including basic pay and allowances)

36% worry about the state of personal finances every day or almost every day

55% are worse off financially than five years ago

And 7% said they never or almost never have enough money to cover all their essentials

 

Morale:

46% of respondents said their morale is currently low

66% said morale within the force is currently low

57% would not recommend joining the police to others

7% said they intend to leave the police service within the next two years or as soon as possible
