Payments on Maternity Leave

Subscriptions will continue to be deducted from all subscribing members of Kent Police Federation during paid periods of maternity leave, including periods of SMP. You will continue to receive the benefits of being a member even whilst not contributing on unpaid maternity leave, providing you were subscribing member before commencing your maternity leave.  

Group Insurance Schemes

Kent Police Federation administer 3 Group Insurance Schemes the FGLA Scheme (Life Insurance), the PAI Scheme (Personal, Accident and Income Replacement) and the combined Travel Insurance and RAC Scheme. These schemes are all arranged through our broker George Burrows.

In relation to all 3 schemes subscriptions will be deducted from all subscribing members of each relevant scheme during paid periods of maternity leave, including periods of SMP.

In order to remain a member of each of the schemes during unpaid maternity leave you will be required to arrange payment of the subscriptions by contacting Kent Police Federation on 01622 652250 / 652251. 

Kent Police Benevolent Fund & Flint House

Subscriptions will continue to be deducted from all subscribing members of Kent Police Benevolent Fund and Flint House during paid periods of maternity leave, including periods of SMP. You will continue to receive the benefits of being a member of the Benevolent Fund even whilst not contributing on unpaid maternity leave providing you were subscribing member up to the point of commencing unpaid maternity leave. 

However, in relation to Flint House only, subscriptions will need to be made direct to Flint House via standing order for cover to continue whilst on unpaid maternity leave. Details for the standing order can be obtained via the Benevolent Fund office. Important Notice

If you withdraw from the Federation, any of the Group Insurance Schemes or the Benevolent Fund & Flint House either prior to or during your maternity leave you will be responsible for notifying payroll if you wish to join on your return to the workplace.
