Hertfordshire Police Federation today remembers Sergeant Alan Lovett.

Alan (46) collapsed and died of heart failure while he was on duty at Hatfield Police Station on 27 November 2006.

Alan had 25 years’ service, with the Metropolitan Police for 15 years and then with the Force where he served on CID and as a custody officer.

Luke Mitchell, chair of Hertfordshire Police Federation, said: “Today we remember Alan and the service he gave to the communities of Hertfordshire. We also keep his family, friends and former colleagues in our thoughts as they continue to mourn his loss.

“Alan was a popular and respected officer and his death had a huge impact on all who knew him.”
