Hertfordshire Police Federation

Catch up on conference

14 June 2021

All the highlights from last week’s Police Federation conference including keynote speeches, panel discussions and round-table forums are now available to watch online.

Members are being encouraged to access the event through a catch-up facility offered by the Police Federation of England and Wales.

A wide range of issues faced by frontline officers in 2021 was examined in a series of fascinating discussions under the Policing under Pressure theme.

Hertfordshire branch chair Geoff Bardell said: “Despite some technical issues at the beginning of conference, which were outside our control, last week’s virtual conference was a huge success and covered some of the major issues that affect our members.

“The panel discussions and Q & As will have struck a chord with the vast majority of our officers and I hope they get a chance to watch them online because I think they’ll find them useful.”

Highlights include the opening address from Prime Minister Boris Johnson, keynote speeches by Home Secretary Priti Patel and Federation chair John Apter plus important sessions on the use of force, policing at protests, misogyny and diversity.
