Hashem Abedi, 22, has been found guilty of murder over the 2017 Manchester Arena bombing that killed 22 people
Stu Berry, Chairman of Greater Manchester Police Federation, said: "Hashem Abedi will spend the rest of his life where he belongs for the murder of 22 innocent people. He doesn’t deserve any further discussion.
"The acts of Terror he facilitated, will however, exist in the memory of this great city, the families of the victims, police officers, emergency services colleagues and wider support networks, forever.
"Their bravery and professionalism throughout this trial is a true testament to the characteristics that keep us united against those who wish to cause us harm.
"Many of our members ran towards those dangers and they will never be the same again. I hope the conclusion of this trial will provide, at least, some measure of closure.
"Assistant Chief Constable Russ Jackson and his team have worked hard to implement a comprehensive plan to support witnesses in preparation, and throughout this trial.
"I would like to thank them personally for working with us and their dedicated support of our members."
