Celebrate International Women’s Day

28 February 2022

Derbyshire Police Federation is marking International Women’s Day by inviting members to take part in a free webinar looking at how to break biases and create an inclusive environment.

International Women’s Day is on Tuesday 8 March and celebrates the social, cultural, economic and political achievements of women. This year’s theme is #BreakThe Bias.

The free webinar, hosted by Laughology, is called “How to create an environment to break gender bias” and will explore:

  • What unconscious bias is. The prevalence and nature of bias from a psychological and scientific perspective
  • The evolutionary psychology of bias. Why we all have it and what it means
  • How to challenge engrained beliefs and bias systems and create an environment inclusive for all.

Spaces for the webinar, which takes place from midday to 12.45pm, are limited. Book your free space here.

Laughology will also host a second webinar open to Federation members on Monday 21 March to mark International Day of Happiness.

The theme of this year’s International Day of Happiness – which was established in 2012 by the UN – is Build Back Happier and aims to make people’s wellbeing a top priority in the recovery from the pandemic.

The online session “Virtually happy – creating happy workplaces and communities” will take place from 12.30pm to 1.15pm.

This session costs £1, which hosts Laughology will match with all money raised going to charity. Attendees will decide the charity on the day.

It will explore:

  • What you can do virtually and face to face to build happy cultures
  • How the role of a manager is changing and what this means
  • Techniques to support individuals and teams virtually and face-to-face
  • How to get the best out of your people all year round and look after their wellbeing.

Book your place here.
