Welfare Support Programme
Officers involved in death or serious injury incidents that result in post-incident investigations or those who are suspended from duty can now access to the Federation’s Welfare Support Programme (WSP).
This has been created for officers who find themselves having to cope with often life-changing situations through the course of their duties.
The WSP provides invaluable support to members throughout England and Wales. The service is provided by Defence Medical Welfare Service (DMWS) and is available to all subscribing Federation members – Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.
The following support is provided:
- Practical and mental support
- Clinical assessment and dedicated counselling
- Person-centred support (via telephone or face-to-face)
- Access to fully trained and accredited professionals
- Independent and confidential support
- Referrals to appropriate follow-on specialist support.
