Members begin voting for their Fed reps
22 February 2018
As we progress to the next stage of our national elections, members across England and Wales will be invited to vote for their force’s Police Federation Workplace Representatives on 1 March. Due to the size of the force, voting for Elected Representatives in the Metropolitan Branch opened today.
Across our 43 Branches over 1,600 officers put themselves forward during the nomination period, which closed on 17 February. Fed reps support and advise members on matters such as conduct, pay, allowances, terms and conditions, equality, professional development and operational policing issues.
Reps undertake their Federation duties alongside their role as a police officer - find out more about the role on our Reps@Work page.
Information on how to vote has been sent directly to all Metropolitan officers via their PNN email addresses and a similar email will be sent to all other forces at the appropriate time. Any Police Federation member, subscribing or non-subscribing, is eligible to vote - find out more about the voting process and the elections timetable on our elections page.
The 2018 elections will be the first to take place using a new process recommended by the Federation’s 2014 Independent Review. The new process allows members to vote for their workplace reps, local Branch chairs as well as the national chair via an electronic voting system.
The voting in the Metropolitan Branch will close at 11.59pm on Wednesday 14 March. The closing date for voting in all other forces is 11.59pm on Wednesday 21 March.
If you are a member and you have any questions about the elections, please contact your local Branch.
