Engaging members at the click of a button
18 May 2016
A new national membership database allowing for direct communication with all 122,000 Federation members was launched on the first day of the annual conference in Bournemouth yesterday.
With all 43 forces in England and Wales agreeing to populate the system with members details, important updates on the likes of legislation, pay and pensions and the day-to-work of the PFEW will be now be sent directly to members in the form of a monthly bulletin. It will also be used for member surveys, bespoke updates and as a tool to capture members feedback.
A welcome email was sent to 96,782 officers across 29 forces whose data is already uploaded with more being populated every day.
PFEW Chair, Steve White said; “The national membership database is an important tool for engaging and communicating directly with our members. Part of our core purpose is to ‘ensure that our members are fully informed’ and the database will enable us to do exactly that in a way that has never before been possible.
“It shows the Federation's continued commitment to work through the recommendations set out in our Independent Review to ensure we are able to serve the needs of our members to help deliver an effective service to the public.”
