Officers commended in Queen's Birthday Honours

13 June 2015

The Police Federation has congratulated officers given awards in this year's Queen's Birthday Honours.

Steve White, chair of the Police Federation of England and Wales, said officers routinely go beyond the call of duty and the honours recognised this.

He said: “Our congratulations go to those officers and members of the wider policing family whose services to policing have been recognised.

“Police officers, and those who support policing, routinely go beyond the call of duty and often risk their lives to keep the community safe, so I am delighted they have been recognised.

“In particular I am delighted that our former chair Steve Williams has been awarded the Queen’s Police Medal.

“Steve has been recognised for his hard work to drive forward reforms and the independent review which will change the federation for the better."
