Police Federation Annual Conference 2010: Media Accreditation
10 February 2010
For the attention of News Editors, Forward Planning Desks, Home Affairs and Crime Correspondents
The Police Federation's annual conference takes place this year at the Bournemouth International Centre (BIC), from the afternoon of Monday 17th to lunchtime on Thursday 20th May, 2010.
This year’s topics include:
- Olympics games in 2012 - are we ready?
- A critical look at the policing of public order events – are we meeting public expectation?
- It is likely we will have a new Home Secretary in May making the Federation conference one of the first diary appointments – a great opportunity to hear their vision for the future
- Conference will be asked to consider the implications of the current government policy of ‘more for less’ – are amalgamations the way forward?
- There will also be sessions on trauma risk management, disability and the implications of having a burgeoning female workforce on shift resilience
Security passes are required for everyone attending the conference. If you wish to attend please email me your details (name and organisation) together with a digital photograph. If you have attended conference in the last three years we will just need you to confirm you are coming and we can recreate your pass using existing details. I would be grateful if you could email me by Friday 16th April.
A facility will be available at the conference centre to issue late passes. However, please note delays could occur depending on numbers applying and late authorisation checks. If you use the late accreditation facility, please bring some form of photographic identification with you.
We will be issuing full details of the conference agenda in the near future. If, in the meantime, you have any queries please do not hesitate to contact the Press Office on 01372 352071
