Federation response to the report 'Reducing Bureaucracy in Policing'
16 February 2009
Paul McKeever, Chairman, Police Federation of England and Wales:
“We congratulate Jan Berry for such a reassuringly thorough report and laud the work done on this. She was well placed to tackle the ongoing problem of bureaucracy and we only hope her report is more successful in cutting red tape than the many previously commissioned reports which have seemingly fallen by the wayside.
“Bureaucracy has long been the blight of bobbies on the beat, acting as a frustrating barricade between the expectation and delivery of frontline policing.
“This report is a starting point from which we must make inroads to achieving success for our members and the public.”
