Police pay arbitration hearing

02 November 2007

On 2nd November the independent Police Arbitration Tribunal convened and accepted evidence from both the Staff Side and Official Side of the Police Negotiating Board (PNB).

Staff Side put forward a very strong and detailed case to the arbiters. The arbiters, aware that police officers are already late receiving any pay increment this year, indicted they will seek to deliver a written decision within weeks.

In the meantime, both nationally and locally, the Police Federation will continue to put pressure on the Home Secretary to honour the decision of the independent Police Arbitration Tribunal. Both sides of PNB are bound by the decision; the government should be the same.
