D.C Stephen Oake comment

Jan Berry, Chairman of the Police Federation of England and Wales:
“It is dispiriting when acts of gallantry within the police service in general is not properly recognised when at times it seems different rules apply to the military.
We are still urging the Prime Minister to reverse the decision not to award DC Stephen Oake a posthumous George Cross and have been encouraging our members to support our campaign by signing the e-petition accessible on the Police Federation website before the deadline of 15th February.
There is no doubt in my mind that Stephen Oake should have been recognised, his selfless act putting himself in front of colleagues, saved their lives but cost him his”
